Smoke – Brun del Ré Cigars August 23, 2010Blog, Uncategorizedadmin Brun del Ré Premium – Torpedo Panelist #1 Aesthetics: This cigar is silky and on the dry side, but still attractive. Construction: This one had a good, eve soft role, and an easy and cool draw. The ash held firm and had a nice appearance. Flavor and Strength: A pleasant, mild cigar. The flavor tastes almost like Boston cream pie. Very good and smoooooooth. General Comments: This would go well with a beer, margarita, or Scotch – it’s all good. This one is worth more than you pay for it. 95 excellent Panelist #2 Aesthetics: A smooth dry wrapper, unsightly veins or imperfections. A very handsome cigar. Construction: This cigar had a soft spongy feel – not too soft, but not what I look for when I pick up a cigar. Lightweight and well rolled. Flavor and Strength: The flavor was mild, nothing to get excited about. The cigar was not harsh, just not what I was expecting. General Comments: A week or two in the humidor would improve these. I would try them again after they were allowed to age a little. 86 very good Panelist #3 Aesthetics: An only shade-grown wrapper with minimal veins; it feels light in the hand. Construction: This is how a perfectly-rolled torpedo should look. A superb draw and a flaky ash round cut this well-constructed cigar. Flavor and Strength: As mild as they come. This cigar is perfect on o hot summer day. The notes of earth and nuts are subtle yet sufficient. General Comments: I enjoyed this cigar while out on the deck. It was the perfect mild smoke for a hazy, hot and humid day. 92 excellent
